New Earswick Coach Organises ‘Robbies Run’

NEAB Under 8s coach Simon Baynes and his shop Millies organised a 7km / 7mile run / walk that went viral across rugby league in the city, with all 3 amateur clubs getting involved.

People were encouraged, at 7am on 7th November to run/walk 7 miles or 7km and then donate £7 once completed, to raise a target of £777, with all money raised going towards Rob Burrows fund to raise awareness for Motor Neurone Disease.

Rob Burrow wore the Number 7 shirt throughout his career and Simon thought using these numbers would go along way to helping raise money and awareness of the disease that the Leeds Rhinos legend was diagnosed with late last year.

Players, coaches and supporters from New Earswick, Heworth and Acorn all posted on social media on 7th November, with their pictures of their efforts, which is amazing to see.

Rob Burrow also tweeted his thanks and support for everyones efforts.

Great idea from Simon and his Millies staff to raise in excess of £2000.

Its not too late to donate
